From 1968 to mid-1972 BGW was engaged in extensive research and development activity. It was during this period that the company developed its first product, introducing the following new concepts to the industry:

  In July, 1974, BGW Systems was chosen by Universal Studios to supply power amplifiers for use in theaters. These amplifiers were an integral part of the Sensurround Sound System used with the movies "Earthquake," "Midway," and "Rollercoaster." The 750 series also dominated the "Disco Boom" for its outstanding reliability in even the worst conditions.

  All BGW amplifiers are built in the USA! In fact all manufacturing - from punching the sheet metal for the chassis to stuffing the circuit boards is done in California. Our Sheet Metal facility is truly state of the art. Our 35 ton computer numeric controlled Turret Punch Press fabricates all our panels, chassis and brackets. Bending operations are performed on a 35 ton Press Brake with electronic back gauge control. Shearing operations utilize a six foot state of the art Shear with a computerized gauging system. Graining operations are performed on a special time-saver graining machine. A CNC Machining Center allows us to fabricate the balance of our metal components and heat sinks. Having this complete facility gives BGW the ability to develop new products quickly and to produce the highest quality packaging for all our products.

  BGW Systems has earned an enviable reputation for reliability and quality. Testing of the products at various stages of manufacture insures proper operation of each unit. A complete electrical test of each amplifier is performed by a computerized audio test system. The computer actually prints the results of each test, and is included with every amplifier. Since our first ampilfier, we have individually tested each of our units. Shaker Table testing is also used on a 100% basis. Each amplifier is operated while strapped to a Shaker Table to determine if any intermittent electrical problems exist. Our exclusive modular construction makes BGW amplifiers easy to maintain in the field. By simply replacing a module, service becomes a quick and easy task.

  Our new Performance Series Amplifiers offer the traditional BGW value at much lower prices. Performance series products are targeted at the musician for portable sound reinforcement applicatoins, mobile DJ application, as well as being a general purpose product.

  BGW is also an OEM supplier to leading firms, such as Sony and 3M corporation.
