Built For The Road
The unique welded steel chassis provides a single, rigid frame onto which all components are mounted. This single-piece construction provides the rigidity and strength needed for the grueling touring sound industry.

All Grand Touring Amplifiers are 5.25" (3U) high designs and include threaded inserts to accommodate rear support brackets for mobile applications. Each model shares the same attractive appearance.

Advanced Thermal Engineering
A massive six-pound aluminum custom heat sink extrusion with a thick base serves as the mounting surface for the Grand Touring Amplifiers' power transistors and output circuit board, soaking up thermal transients generated by loud musical passages without raising the temperature of the transistors. The entire heat sink assembly can be replaced in minutes, allowing quick service when required. The Grand Touring Amplifiers are fan cooled with a single speed unit pulling cool air in through side vents (across the heatsinks) and exhausting hot air out the back.

The Professional Standard
There is a base set of features without which no amplifier should be called "professional": Grand Touring Amplifiers meet--and exceed--this standard. The Grand Touring Amplifiers offers active balanced inputs on both XLR and 1/4" TRS phone jacks, touch proof binding post outputs and LED indicators for Power, Signal Presence and Clipping/Limiting. Male and female XLR inputs on each channel make it easy to daisy chain multiple amps. A transformer-isolated version is available (specify BGW GTA OP09-Pro when ordering).

A subsonic (high pass) filter, as well as input and output modes, can be activated with a rear-panel switch. Front panel LEDs indicate true clipping, and a 3-second turn on delay (with instant off) protects speakers.

Unconventional Power
To meet the needs of today's power-hungry systems, the Grand Touring Amplifiers offer a choice of power levels. The BGW Model GTA is the most powerful amplifier: With its dual monaural design, each channel is capable of delivering a full kilowatt of continuous power into 2-ohm loads. To properly deliver so much continuous power, the GTA is supplied with a four-conductor, 10-gauge molded power cord rated at 30 amps.

When you compare the power supplies and cord of the GTA with most other amplifiers on the market, you develop an understanding of why it sounds so much better, and can deliver so much more clean transient power than competitive amplifiers marketed with higher output power. In compliance with international safety standards, all GTA Models feature conventional power supplies--a distinct advantage over multi-stage circuits, which can remain a cause of switching distortion among competitor's products.

In keeping with BGW's high standards, a generous array of low profile power supply capacitors provide an uncommonly high amount of stored energy. Storing this energy just millimeters away from the output terminals allows for incredible transient response and speaker motion control.

Built-in Reliability
Providing generous safe operating area is a strong BGW tradition. While this practice requires a greater number of costly output devices, the results--increased reliability and operating life, lower thermal stress and load on each power transistor--are worth it!

The Grand Touring Series uses advanced power transistor technology designed specifically for professional audio. These seven 200-Watt BGW UltraCase^TM high-speed power transistors in parallel easily handle its 1kW into 2 Ohm rating.

Conservative Design
Only the highest quality components are selected for use in BGW Grand Touring Amplifiers. If one channel should fail, the second would continue to operate. All Grand Touring Amplifiers are modular, and an entire channel assembly can be replaced in the field in minutes with nothing more that a Phillips head screwdriver.

BGW Grand Touring models use transformers designed to meet stringent standards. Each of the GTA's two power supplies, for example, can deliver more than 1200 Watts of DC power.

All GT amplifier circuit boards are double-sided glass epoxy, with plated through-holes as an additional safeguard. A hand-made wiring harness connects the removable heat sink modules to the power supply and input module, eliminating the failures due to fragile board-to-board interconnects used in inexpensively made amplifiers.

Before passing Quality Assurance, each BGW amplifier must survive a grueling battery of performance tests, including a shaker table test. Individual performance evaluations are shipped with each amplifier; the results often reflect measured power output well in excess of the amplifier's official rating.

Each BGW GT amplifier is covered by a three year parts and labor warranty.
